Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice about 3–4 lemons
  • 1/4 cup packed fresh mint leaves
  • 4 tablespoons sugar or honey adjust to taste
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Lemon slices for garnish
  • Mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  • Juice the Lemons:
  • Squeeze fresh lemons to extract 1/2 cup of lemon juice. Strain to remove seeds and pulp if preferred.
  • Blend Mint and Sweetener:
  • In a blender, combine mint leaves, sugar (or honey), and 1 cup of the cold water. Blend until the mint is finely crushed.
  • Combine Ingredients:
  • In a large pitcher, mix the lemon juice, mint mixture, and remaining 2 cups of cold water.
  • Add Ice and Garnish:
  • Stir well and add ice cubes. Garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs before serving.
  • Serve Immediately:
  • Pour into glasses and enjoy fresh for the most vibrant flavor.

Notes

  • Mint Tip:
Use fresh, vibrant green mint leaves for the best aroma. Avoid older leaves as they can taste bitter when blended.
  • Sweetness Control:
Start with 4 tablespoons of sugar or honey and adjust based on the tartness of your lemons and personal preference.
  • Serving Idea:
For a sparkling twist, swap some of the water for chilled soda water or tonic just before serving.
  • Make Ahead:
If you want to prep in advance, blend the mint-sugar base and lemon juice, then add water and ice right before serving.
  • Straining Optional:
If you prefer a smoother drink, strain the mixture after blending. Otherwise, keep it pulpy for a more rustic texture.
  • Flavor Variations:
Add cucumber slices, a pinch of salt, or even a few basil leaves for a fun flavor twist.
  • Storage Tip:
Best served fresh, but can be refrigerated (covered) for up to 24 hours. Stir before serving as mint may settle.
